PJRR RACE DAY! Sunday, October 16, 2016

: 8:30am-9:45am
Location: Cardinal Crest Shelter, Sharon Woods Park, 11450 Lebanon Road, Sharonville, OH 45241 *Use Route 42 park entrance.

Safety First For safety purposes, race participants will be separated into three waves. The first wave is for runners (no dogs), with competitive runners at the front of the pack and recreational runners to the rear. The second wave, starting a few minutes later, is for 5K runners with dogs and 5K walkers with or without dogs. The third and final wave is for all 2K walkers, with or without dogs. Since this is a chip-timed event with a start mat, there is no disadvantage to starting in the second or third wave. This grouping will help the more competitive runners to sprint ahead without being inadvertently tripped up by a leash or blocked by slower-paced participants. Water Stops There will be a water stop for the 5k participants at (approximately) the 1-mile and 2-mile markers for both people and dogs. There will be multiple hydration stations (doggy pails) along the 5k and 2k courses for the thirsty dogs. Be Practice Proper PETtiquette To make this event as pleasant as possible for all involved we ask that all participants with dogs follow a few simple rules:

  1. Please keep dogs on a 6 foot or shorter lead and have them walk or run close to you. NO RETRACTABLE LEADS are permitted. Hamilton County Park rules also require 6 foot or shorter leads. As people maneuver through the pack during the race, we do not want them to be tripped up with extended leads.
  2. Please be certain your dog is comfortable running at your pace before deciding to bring him or her. We want this to be a pleasant experience for everyone, the four-legged participants as well. If your dog is not comfortable running or stops and starts quite a bit, please consider walking with him that day for the safety of the others as well as for the comfort of your pooch.
  3. Please pick up after all your dog’s messes, including along the route—also a park rule. It is not pleasant for a runner or walker to step in an unexpected surprise! PAWlunteers will have Mutt Mitts available and will be provided at the starting line.
  4. We are encouraging children and families to attend and participate. Pet parents…please be certain to watch your dog’s reaction around crowds and especially children. Human parents…please also keep an eye on your child’s interactions with the dogs as some dogs are more reactive than others. We want this to be a fun and safe event for all involved!

Vendor & Sponsor Opportunities

The Paw Joggers Rescue Run is a non-profit event created to benefit our local animal welfare charities. A portion of registration fees will be donated to these hardworking groups, so we need several generous sponsors to make the event a huge success.

We also have vendor opportunities available for you to show off your products and promote your services. Spaces will fill up quickly, so be sure to register soon!
